June C. Williams Graveside services for June Covington Williams, 86, of Harrison County, died August 14, 2009 in Longview, TX. Graveside services will be held at Alpine Cemetery on Wednesday August 19, 2009 at 11AM with Reverend Richard Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Alpine Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Williams was born Feb. 5, 1923 I Burkburnett, Texas to Mary Gilliland Covington and Jewell Covington. The family moved to San Angelo in 1926 and she lived there until January 1972 when she and her husband, Claude E. Williams, moved to Longview. They built a home on the Harrison County Farm where Claude was born and raised, and moved there in June 1972. A graduate of High School and Junior College in San Angelo, she later attended The University of Texas at Austin. She was a member of the Alpine Presbyterian Church, where she was member of various committees and belonged to the Afternoon Club. Until her retirement, she was a newspaper reporter in San Angelo, an Airline Hostess with the Pioneer Airlines based in Houston, and had various secretarial jobs. Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ivan Gully of Calliham, her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Becky Cope of Anna, her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Irene Williams of Longview, one granddaughter and her husband, Amy and Cody Kemp of San Antonio, one grandson and his wife, David and Lisa Williams of Bakersfield, CA, three great-granddaughters, Bridget Carter of Austin, Ashley Williams of Hallsville, Zoe Kemp of San Antonio, two great-grandsons, Max Kemp of San Antonio, Jackson Williams of Bakersfield, CA, one brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Tina Covington . She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude E. Williams, two grandsons, Max Carter III and Paul Williams. Memorials may be made to the Alpine Presbyterian Church, Highway 80 Rescue Mission, or the West Texas Boys Ranch. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday August 18, 2009 from 6-8pm
