June L. Scarano, 89, of Herkimer, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away August 10, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born, July 3, 1924, in Salisbury Center, NY, a daughter of Willard and Mabel Decker Belcher. On May 15, 1943, she married Leonard A. (Skip) Scarano at St. Joseph's Church, Dolgeville, NY. Mr. Scarano passed away March 17, 2002. June attended St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy and husband Tim Walter; three sons, Lenny Jr. and wife Janice, Tony, and James and Ruthann Rowan; grandchildren, Sonya Breehey, J. J. Walter, Stephanie and Jeff LaPorte, Brendon and Michelle Scarano, and Justin and Dominique Scarano; great-grandchildren, Tate, Avery and McKenna LaPorte, Tyler, Austin and Cierra Scarano, Abigail Breehey, and Gisella Scarano; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband; a grandson-in-law Abe Breehey; and nine brothers and sisters. The family extends their appreciation to the Folts Home, Herkimer for the care given to June. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. from Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro, and 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
