Obituary for June Melden

February 10, 2017
Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

Life is just like painting. The artist draws the lines with hope, erases the errors with tolerance, dips the brush with patience and colors it with love. June Melden's lifelong passion for art was evident in her paintings and watercolors and she was a natural. Her artwork now remains as gift to family and friends. June A. (Grady) Melden died on Friday, February 10, 2017.

Born and raised in Worcester she was a daughter of the late William L. and Susan E. (Moor) Grady. A graduate of South High School she also graduated from the former Salter School. While in school she was involved in many sports and played on various teams. She married Harold A. 'Harry' Melden on November 18, 1950 and they were married for 60 years until his death on July 27, 2011.

June taught tennis for many years through the Parks & Recreation Department for the Town of Shrewsbury and volunteered at Precincts 5 and 10 as a warden. Her love for art enabled her to take courses at the Worcester Art Museum and much of her artwork was exhibited in many area venues. June was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She and Harry were longtime members of Tatnuck Country Club in Worcester where she played tennis and golf. They enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren who made them very proud.
