Karen Asher, 52, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Monday, December 20, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on August 19, 1958 in Harlan County, Kentucky. She was previously employed by Pinkerton Tobacco Company and later by G.E. Small Motors and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her grandkids, going fishing, camping, cooking and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Austin Asher and by a brother, Gary Asher, on March 21, 2003. She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Hall Ford and husband, Randy of Falls of Rough, KY and Elizabeth Hall Brooks and husband, Eric of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Baylee Hall, Branson Brooks, Jackson Nichols and Carson Brooks; her mother, Martha Asher of Harlan, KY; two sisters, Laverne Nicklow and husband, Tony of Baltimore, MD and her twin sister, Sharon Grubbs of Owensboro; two brothers, Roy Kilgore and wife, Lois and Danny Asher both of Harlan, KY; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Susan DeWitt of Owensboro. Services are at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Humane Society, 3101 W. Second Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
