Karen Cruthis "Nanny" Prater, 56, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at her residence.
Karen was born in Reidsville, December 11, 1955, a daughter of David and Edith Monahan Cruthis. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a special person to all. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Cranford and three brothers, Harold Cruthis, Jimmy Dale Cruthis and David Lee Cruthis.
Surviving are a son, Billy Jack Prater and wife Amber of Thomasville; a daughter, Kimberly Cranford of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Caleb Prater, Aryana Sprouse and Alyssa Sprouse; three sisters, Sandra Ridge of High Point, Donna Whitaker of High Point, Susan Salas of Thomasville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel. Burial will follow in Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
