Karen Elizabeth Wyatt, aged 66, of San Diego, passed away peacefully at Pomerado Hospital on January 13, 2012.

Karen was born in Wisconsin to Cyril F. Peters and Ruth [Dempsey] Peters. She attended Kansas City Junior College and earned an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

Karen worked at Pulse Electronics in accounts receivable in recent years. In her career she worked for a variety of companies in accounting and business management roles. Notably she worked for the Simon Levi Company, and AMFAC Pharmaceuticals. One of our favorite memories of mom was when she took a job in the AMFAC warehouse, carrying 50 pound boxes to the dock while roller skating, since it paid a more than her office job. The ABC local news featured her in a story as she was the first woman that ever did the job.

She attended Horizon Christian Fellowship for the past several years. She really enjoyed Pastor Mike MacIntosh weekly messages and the worship music there. A highlight of her involvement at Horizon was when she joined the Christian clown ministry. Karen went to clown school and adopted her clown name "Petunia". She enjoyed going to events and making people smile and sharing the good news of Jesus.

Karen is survived by sons, Jeffrey and Michael, their spouses, Leanne and Ruth, grandchildren Tyler, Adam, Juliette and Madison, and siblings Diane Phillips, David Peters, Allan Peters, and Mary Peters.

A visitation will be held Wednesday January 18, 5-8pm and a memorial service Thursday January 19, noon at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley.

The family would like to thank the LightBridge Hospice Team along with the doctors and nursing staff at Pomerado Hospital and Carmel Mountain Rehabilitation for the great care and comfort they provided Karen and our family during her last days.
