Karen R. Johnson, age 66, of Litchfield died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at the Burns Manor in Hutchinson, MN.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 20th at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor David Sorensen officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 PM on Tuesday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.  Interment will be in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.  

Karen Rae Johnson was born on September 21, 1938, the daughter of Philip and Cora Rodal Anderson in Litchfield, Minnesota.  She grew up as a young girl in Butterfield, MN before returning to Litchfield, where she attended the Litchfield High School and was a lifelong resident.

She was united in marriage to Charles E. Johnson on October 15, 1955 in Litchfield, MN.  Karen was employed for many years as a cook for the Litchfield Schools and the Meeker County Law Enforcement Center.  Karen was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith and was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield.  She loved gardening and growing flowers in her own yard and working at the local garden centers.

Karen is survived by her husband Charles E. Johnson of Litchfield; children John Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Jody Tim Schloesser of Fairbanks, AK, Jill Joel Ramthun of Litchfield and Kristin Steve Dollerschell of Litchfield; 6 grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy and Jamie Schloesser, Jenna Hugget, Jack Ramthun and Judson Dollerschell; 3 greatgrandchildren Savannah, Dylan and Jayla Schloesser; and sister Kathlyn "Kaye" Joe Merila of Plymouth.  Karen is also survived by niece Tracy Merila of Glenview, IL; and nephew Mark Wendy Merila and his family of San Diego, CA.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents Philip and Cora Anderson.
