Dr. Karl B. von Klock, a resident of Hebron, New Hampshire and formerly of Wakefield and Melrose, died suddenly, June 13, 2011 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center at the age of 81.

Karl was born in Melrose on November 12, 1929, one of three children of the late Werner F. von Klock and Doris L. (Frost) von Klock.

He was raised in Melrose and graduated as the valedictorian of Melrose High School, Class of 1948. He then served in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War and was discharged with a degree in Engineering. He received his Master’s degree in Mathematics from Tufts University and became a self employed Doctor of Psychology. Dr. von Klock was an active member of the faculty at Suffolk University where he was instrumental in the development of the Psychology Department.

Karl enjoyed playing the flute with the Melrose Symphony Orchestra for many years. He was a member of the First Parish Congregational Church in Wakefield, and the German Club of the Lakes Region, NH. He was an avid reader, and loved classical music.

Dr. von Klock was the loving husband of Patricia F. (Grabeau) von Klock. Beloved son of the late Werner F. von Klock and Doris L. (Frost) von Klock. Dear brother of the late Robert N. von Klock, Alan R. von Klock, and brother-in-law of Kenneth W. Grabeau and his wife Ruth of Nashua, NH.

Memorial Service at the Union Congregational Church, Hebron, New Hampshire, on Saturday, August 6 at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Gifts in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or a charity of your choice.
