KATHERINE CAROL PERDUE

Katherine Carol Perdue, age 79, of Green Sulphur Springs, passed from this life in Beckley, West Virginia, on Thursday, September 1, 2011 after a battle with cancer.
Carol was born May 29, 1932 at Harrisonville, Cass County, MO to Clyde Elliott and Opal Nellie Nelson Hunt. She graduated from Escondido High School, in CA. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an avid reader, she crocheted, and was a hand quilter with her quilts going worldwide from a shop in Williamsburg, Virginia. On March 1, 1957 she married her soulmate of 53 years, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Perdue. They had three children: Richard Glen Wilkinson, II, Laura Katherine Desiree Nelson and William Clyde Franklin Perdue.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Frank and brother James William Hunt. She is survived by her son Richard, daughter Laura & husband Dan, of Beckley, brother Darrell Hunt of Escondido, CA, sister Ella Gamett of Riverside, CA, sister Anne Kirkland of Beulah, CO, twelve grandchildren: Sybil, Isaac, Lavinia, Crystal, Carole, Martha, Elizabeth, Dustin, Wendy, Deanna, Nathan & Matthew, fourteen great grandndchildren, and one great great grandchild, many nieces & nephews and in-laws, friends: Nancy Wise, Mark and Laniece Lykin, Vera Mize, Carl Mize, Lucille Williams and many others.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, September 16 at 7:00pm, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. A dinner will precede the memorial at 4:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Stanaford, WV. Friends and family can arrive at the memorial beginning at 6:00pm.
The family extends a special thanks to Hospice of Beckley, WV and the Bowers House for all the care and compassion they provided us.
