Kathy Wells, 52 of Kings Valley, passed away June 20th in Blodgett. Kathy was born in Corvallis to Esley and Sandra (Mintken) Moon. She grew up in Azalea, Wilbur, Corvallis, and Philomath where she graduated in 1978. Kathy attended Linn Benton Community College and was the first woman to graduate from the diesel tech program. In 1979, she married Rick Wells in Corvallis. A "Jack of all Trades", Kathy could do anything she set her mind to. She was a "grease monkey" working on cars and trucks, and also cut and wrapped meat, crotcheted, and did woodworking. Kathy was also a devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother who taught her infinite useful skills to numerous friends and family. She held different occupations for Safeway, Sears, E.D. Hughes, and was co-owner of TreeTaxi Express and K&R Farms. Kathy was also a past member of the Kings Valley Fire Department and 4H leader for over 20 years. Kathy is survived by her husband; mother; children, Mary Louise Robeson and husband Lando of Toledo, Audrey Ann Mortensen and husband Chris of Dallas, Sarah Marie Hibbs and husband Mike of Chitwood, OR, and Austin Tyler Wells of Kings Valley; brothers, Terry Moon of Alaska and Les Moon of Philomath; sister, Linda Thompson-Moon of Philomath; grandchildren, Colby, Abbygail, Lyjanay, Nevaeh, Ezekiel, Josiah, Toby, and Kaylee. She was preceded in death by her father; and brothers, Dan and Dennis Moon. A celebration of life will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Corvallis. A reception will follow at the T.E. Bell Ranch.
