Katherine "Kay" Menard, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, died Friday, December 16, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Charles L Menard; son, Michael L Menard and wife, Carol, daughter, Barbara J Morowski and husband, James, and daughter, Jennifer Swanson and husband, Scott; four grandchildren, Alex and Samantha Morowski, and Dillon and Daniel Swanson; siblings, Maureen Brendle and husband, Fred, and Anne DiMinno and husband, Mike; and other relatives and friends. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anna McDermott; brother, Charles McDermott; and sister, Eileen "Skippy" O'Connor. She was born in 1939 in the Bronx, NY. She was an avid sports fan, loving the Mets and the Dodgers. Kay was a very outgoing, fun, and loving woman, who made friends easily. She was a member of The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Kay was a loving wife and mother, and "Nona" to her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends and family may visit French-University Chapel Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to A Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Menard, Michael Menard, Scott Swanson, James Morowski, Larry Ryan, and Austin McLynch. "MEET YOU IN THE KITCHEN."
