Kathleen A. Keating, 63, of Springfield, died at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at St. John's Hospital. She was born November 13, 1949 in Chicago, raised as the daughter of Adrian and Christine Fritzsche. She married James K. Keating on September 14, 1973 in Springfield. Kathleen was a graduate of St. John's School of Nursing and received her bachelor's and master's degree from College of St. Francis. She worked as a registered nurse at St. John's Hospital for over 30 years. Kathleen was a member of St. James Church in Riverton and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, cooking, and watching old movies. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, James K. Keating of Springfield; two sons, Kevin (wife, Julie) Keating of Peru and Patrick (wife, Carole) Keating of Sherman; one daughter, Meaghan Keating of Springfield; three grandchildren, Lucas James, Katie Jo, and Bradey Patrick Keating; mother, Christine Fritzsche of Mt. Olive; eleven siblings, James Sweeney, Carol Hopkins, Ken Fritzsche, Catherine Doyle, Dennis Fritzsche, Joan Klaus, Jeanne Johnson, Debbie Lydon, Diane Lorenzen, Tim Fritzsche, and Kevin Fritzsche; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Blessed Pope John Paul II Parish at Ascension Church, 705 E. Main St., Mt. Olive, with Rev. Urban Figge celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Olive. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. John's Hospital, Hospice Program, 800 E.
