Kathleen Winkler

ORLEANS – Kathleen Winkler, 95, Orleans, formerly of Mitchell, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County in Paoli. Born September 21, 1913, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Fred and Rosie (Mundy) Sheeks. She married Gerald V. Winkler September 28, 1929, and he preceded her in death March 31, 1992. She was a homemaker, a member of Port Williams Church of Christ, and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She and her husband enjoyed dancing with the Spring Mill Squares. Surviving: son, Herald G. Winkler, Mitchell daughters, Mary Ann Hargis and husband, Luther R., Orleans Patricia Harris and husband, Edward Ray, Greenwood daughter-in-law, Shirley Winkler, Aurora, Colorado 10 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren 5 great great grandchildren Her parents; husband; son, Harris Neil Winkler; brothers, Isom and Lester Sheeks; and sisters, Florence Ellis and Daisy Gerkin, preceded her in death. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday and from noon until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
