Kathryn was a retired Detroit Public School Teacher and Docent of the Detroit Institute of Arts with special interest in early Greek and Roman art. She was the author of "Ruthie's Girl". Kathryn earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Sienna Heights College in 1954 and a M.A. in Latin from Wayne State University in 1993. She was fiercely independent, a devoted fashionista, a Francophile, avid reader and life-long learner. Ever the teacher, she enjoyed sharing her vast knowledge of history and art with her five grandchildren, many admirers and friends. Beloved wife of the late H. Douglas Levasseur. Loving mother of Elise (Rocco), Thomas (Susan), Dennis (Melissa), Marie Brown (John) and Gregory. Devoted grandmother of Douglas, Emily, Victoria, Kathryn and Margaret. Sister of Mary Cronin Moll (Conrad). Aunt of David and Jason. Daughter of the late Daniel and Ruth (nee Despond) Cronin. Her unique philosophy of life and gift for story-telling will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her caring presence will be sadly felt by her "alleged" cat, Circe. Family will receive friends Friday, January 11th 1:00-8:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile).
