Kathryn Dickard Looper
Pickens, SC

Kathryn D. Looper, 89, of 127 Aniwaya View, died at home Tuesday, December 13, 2011 after a brief illness. Mrs. Looper was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Ben B. Looper. She was the daughter of the late William "Bill" Dickard and Nettie Evans Dickard.

A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was a devout Christian and long time member of Secona Baptist Church. She was a founding member of the Cannon Hospital Auxiliary. She also received great pleasure and blessings from feeding and caring for the sick.

She is survived by daughters, Judy L. Wood and Gail L. Grindstaff and her husband Greg both of Pickens, son-in-law Ron Mitchell of Easley, and a sister Gladys D. Owens also of Easley. She is also survived by four loving grandchildren, Ben E. Ferguson and his fiancé Stella R. White, Gina F. Moon, Ashley K. Lamb, and Graham W. Sizemore and her husband Rick all of Pickens. Also surviving are her four precious great grandchildren, Bradlee Moon, Grayson Lamb, Maggie Sizemore and Ben Sizemore.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Looper was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn L. Mitchell and grandson, Brad Ferguson. She was also predeceased by three sisters and eight brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2:00 at Secona Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM in the church sanctuary.

Memorials may be made to Secona Baptist Church, 234 Secona Road, Pickens, SC 29671.

The family will be at the home.
