Kathryn Liuzza Ph.D., 58 years old of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away, Wednesday, April 4, 2012.
She was born on Friday, August 14, 1953, in Hammond, La., daughter of the late Henry Leo Liuzza and the late Phyne Costa Liuzza.
She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University and received a Master's Degree and a Ph.D. from Tulane University. Kathryn was retired from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Qualities. She was a World Traveler and touched many lives with her kindness and her generosity.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Mary Kathryn Liuzza Fletcher, granddaughter, Antoinette Buglio, brother & sister-in-law, Henry Leo and JoAnn Liuzza, sisters and brother-in-laws, Mary and David Thornhill, and Rosalie and Gary Blackledge, niece, Stepanie Cheramie and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by sisters, Henrietta Liuzza Kirby and Antoinette Liuzza.
Friends will be received Monday, April 9, 2012 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11:00 am, with Father John Boll officiating.
Interment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery Independence, Louisiana.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or North Oaks Hospice.
