Keith E. Bumgardner, 83, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Keith worked for the City of Fort Wayne for 23 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post #82, and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Surviving are his son Barry Bumgardner of Berwyn, IL; son Ross Bumgardner of Fort Wayne; step-daughters Diane McGlone of Fort Wayne, Denise (Arnold) Burkholder of Decatur, IN, and Karen (David) Knerr of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Amber and Jasmine Baumgardner; step-grandchildren Craig Singleton, Julie Manogg, Kendra Voorhies, Jamie Rose, Krista Diehl, Eric Knerr, and Traci Kellogg; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Joan Niswonger of Fort Wayne; step-brother Dale Fagan; step-sisters Phyllis Jackson of South Whitley, IN, and Dorothy Applegate of Indianapolis, IN; and companion Phyllis Clifton of Fort Wayne. Keith was preceded in death by his wife Alice Bumgardner, parents Gail and Velma Bumgardner, half-brother David Bumgardner, and brother Jack Bumgardner. Service is 2:00pm, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling 1hr prior. Calling also Tuesday, January 07, 2014 from 2- 5pm & 7-9pm at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
