Kelly Esperson Stoker, beloved son of Lyngby and Carol Esperson Stoker, passed away December 24, 2009 from injuries sustained in an accident while vacationing with his family at Bear Lake. Kelly was born August 5, 1958 in Ogden, Ut. and graduated from Clearfield High School, Brigham Young University, and the University of Utah Medical School. He practiced medicine for seventeen years and was a skilled and respected Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeon. He married his eternal sweetheart Kimberly Lund in the Salt Lake Temple on May 20, 1982. Kelly had a kind, gentle, and patient personality, and was genuinely loved and respected by everyone who was blessed to know him. Kelly's first and most passionate love was his family, and he spent virtually all of his precious free time in their service. He had a great sense of humor, always ready with quick wit and a joke. He enjoyed traveling, playing games, recalling fun family stories, watching BYU games, roughhousing with his boys, and spending time with his sweetheart, Kim. It never mattered what they did, as long as they were together. Besides spending time with his family, Kelly enjoyed all forms of outdoor recreation, especially fly-fishing. He was the hardest of workers. He enjoyed working on a wide variety of projects around his home. He had a keen mind, and a knack for building and repairing. There were very few things that Kelly couldn't fix or improve. Kelly was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent his life in the service of others and held various positions of leadership, including Bishop of the North Salt Lake Foxhill Ward from 2002-2008. He served an honorable LDS mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Kelly lived his life in quiet humility, with a deep love for the scriptures. He was continually immersed in the scriptures, had an extensive knowledge of the Gospel, and lived its principles in all he did. Kelly taught his family important lessons of life and faith through his example and was a life-long missionary. He loved to share the Gospel and truly embodied the concept of being a humble follower of Christ. There is no doubt that in his next life, he will join his earthly father in continuing to be a "fisher of men." Kelly is survived by his eternal companion, Kimberly, daughters Michelle Jennings (Judson) and Sarah, sons Steven (Mindy), Matthew, Darin, Jeffrey, Robby, Eric, and by his grandson Rowe Jennings. He is also survived by his mother, Carol, brother, Dee (Jolene), and sisters, Lynette Ferguson and Dixie Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyngby, and by his brother, Jerry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m., Thursday, December 31st, 2009 at the North Salt Lake Stake Center, 900 E. Eaglepointe Blvd. Friends and family may visit Wednesday evening December 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Thursday December 31st, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment - Lakeview Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to the Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Every young girl dreams of marrying a man like Kelly. Kim feels blessed to have had 27 wonderful years on earth with him, and looks forward to their eternal relationship in their life to come. Dad, we love you, and already miss your presence in our lives. We know you continue to watch over us, and the gift we offer to you this Christmas is to live our lives by your example, in the hope that we will live with you again.
