Ken Christensen, 80, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the NorthCare Hospice House. Memorial services will be 12:00 pm Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 4900 Blue Ridge, Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am Saturday, until service time Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the church. Ken was born March 30, 1932 in Grenora, ND the youngest of his family, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. He was raised on a farm in Montana. His heart never left the farm. Ken has two children; Kim Dodgen and Kent Christensen and his wife Kim, grandchildren; Jennifer, Aaron and Jessica Littrell, great-grandchildren; Logan, Tanner and Robert. He married Patricia in 1983. Pat has three children, Kim Smith and husband Mark, Don Gerdts and his wife Sonia and Kent Gerdts and his wife Julie, six grandchildren; Stacy and husband Brian, Craig and fiancee Kristina, Alexa and husband Cris, Ethan, Holly and Emily, great-granddaughter, Aubrey. The two wonderful families were beautifully merged. Ken spent his career in building codes and plumbing codes and retired as Regional Manager of ICBO. Ken could repair or build almost anything. Ken loved their yearly trips back to the farm and visiting with his many relatives, most of which are in Montana. Ken loved his family deeply as well as his church, pastor and many friends. He and Pat enjoyed playing bridge and traveling. Anyone that knew Ken also knew he was a wonderful Christian man, a loving , caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
