Kimberlee T. O’Neill, a resident of Melrose, died suddenly on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Kimberlee was born in Melrose on August 9, 1972, one of three children of John E. O’Neill and Linda M. (Fidalgo) O’Neill. Kim was raised in Melrose with her two brothers and graduated from the Winsor School in Boston with the Class of 1990. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Beloit College in Wisconsin, majoring in French and Psychology. Kim obtained her Master’s degree in Education from Simmons College and began her teaching journey which would bring her around the world.

An independent and strong person, Kim traveled alone to many parts of the world. She taught English to students in South Korea for 4 years, studied in France, and toured across Asia and Europe by herself.

Kim was a gifted writer, and every year enjoyed entering the National Novel Writing Month challenge to compose a novel in less than 30 days. She will be forever remembered and admired for her talents with languages and as a writer.

Kim was the loving and cherished daughter of John E. O’Neill and Linda M. (Fidalgo) O’Neill of Melrose. Loving sister of Patrick D. O’Neill and his wife Rebecca of W. Hartford, CT and Matthew J. O’Neill of Stillwater, OK. Beloved niece of Lorraine A. Jones of Somerville, Lawrence F. Fidalgo of Winchester, Leslie J. Fidalgo of Quincy, and Mary A. O’Neill of Somerville. Devoted aunt of John P. “Jack” O’Neill, Quinn L. O’Neill and Colin J. O’Neill all of W. Hartford, CT.

Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE on Tuesday, May 10 at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Kim’s honor at the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
