L. Fred Story, 91, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away December 8, 2011, in Norfolk, VA. A native of South Hampton County, VA, he was the son of the late Leonidas L. and Elizabeth H. Story. He retired from the Virginian-Pilot as a District Manager after 35 years of service. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife, Pauline H. Story; a daughter, Anita Story McKenzie of Virginia Beach, VA; two sons, Harrell Story and wife Susan of Elks Creek, VA and Linwood N. Story and wife Pamela of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren, Jason McKenzie and wife Lisa, Sean McKenzie and wife Robin, Mark McKenzie, Carol Story, Rebecca Story and Christopher Story; eight great-grandchildren, Catherine, Jacob, Kamela, Logan, Isabella, Alden, Braden and Leia McKenzie; and a step-granddaughter, Taylor Lamb. He was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Shane McKenzie. A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel.
