Dear Family, I wanted to express my deepest sympathy and concern for you and share with you that death isn’t the end. In fact, Jesus demonstrated this when he learned of his friend Lazarus’ death when he was on earth. The account recorded in John 11 shows that to those who were with him when he got the bad news, Jesus said: “Lazarus has fallen asleep and I and I am going to awaken him”. Just as he stated, the account also reveals that he asked to be taken to the grave. When he got there he called him and Lazarus came out alive and well. What Jesus did then is a preview of what he‘ll soon do for those who have died. In fact, he promises that in John 5 verses 28 and 29 where he said that the time will come when those in the grave will hear his voice and come out to receive life or be judged. LaVergne is one lady I am really missing already. I had just written a brief note and picked up some of her favorite Dove Chocolate Bars so we could share a bite when she felt well enough to have a visit. The day I went to mail it was the day she passed away. I am still in shock. What a wonderful, warm, funny lady! I loved her. We've all lost another member of The Greatest Generation. I bet my Dad has already asked her to dance!!

I was always warmly greeted by your mom when we saw her at church Dana. She was a special friend to my mother Nerine. I know they shared many conversations and good laughs. I am thinking they are doing that right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

I've been thinking about Aunt La all day on what would have been her 90th birthday today. What a wonderful and thoughtful lady! She would always remember to send birthday cards to me and I cherished every one and still do, as I still have most of them! She will be missed but as she said - she is looking forward to celebrating Uncle Bill's upcoming birthday in heaven - there she goes again, always thinking of others first! All my love! I cherish the talks we have had and the family history we shared and all the wonderful memories I have of her. I always loved going to see my Aunt, Uncle and cousins.
