LaVonda Sheen Anderson (81) passed away peacefully May 7, 2011 and has been reunited with her loving husband Lynn Eugene Anderson and her daughter Diana.
LaVonda is survived by her 4 sons Alan (Kelly Shannon), Mark (LeAnn Olsen), Michael (Vicki Coon), Brent (Shari Jolley), her sister Pricilla (Sheen) Sundblom, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn and daughter Diana, brothers Kenneth, Richard, Orlynn and Calvin Sheen. LaVonda loved being around her family and encouraged and enjoyed many family gatherings regardless whether it be hunting, camping or just gathering around the house on weekends and holidays.
LaVonda was the daughter Clarence and Kathrine (Killian) Sheen and was born November 28, 1929 and raised in Salem Utah, attended school in Salem and Spanish Fork. On Apr 8, 1954, she married Lynn Eugene Anderson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and began a fun and joyful life’s journey with Lynn. The first years were spent in Dugway Utah and they later moved to Payson where they raised their 4 boys.
She worked for the Utah County Recorder’s office for a few years and for 23 years at Nebo School District Transportation. She loved to sing and enjoyed music very much. She was also known around Salem and Spanish Fork as one of the soloists traveling with the LDS High Councilors. She was an original member of the Payson LaNesta Chorus for many years and later joined as an original member of the Payson Civic Chorale. She was always a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many teaching and leadership positions as Primary, Relief Society, Young Women’s President, etc.
She will be missed but always remembered for her quiet kindness that she offered to everyone she associated with.
The family would like to offer a special thanks for Dr. William LeRoy, Mountian View Hospital, Spanish Fork Nursing Rehabilitation and Sundbrook Hospice for their support and loving care.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11 AM in the Mountain View Ward Building, 789 East Arrowhead Trail, Payson Utah. Family and friends may call at the Walker Mortuary Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 187 South Main, Spanish Fork between 6 and 8 PM. Burial will be in the Salem City Cemetery.
