Edna Lanita Ugarte, an 85 year resident of Dallas peacefully passed away in Sherman at age 90
on 8-26-11. She is now in a wonderful place with her husband, parents, brother and friends who went before her.
Lanita attended the Texas School for the Deaf as a child. As an an adult, in addition to being a devoted daughter, wife, mother, "Granny" and friend to many, she was a long time member of the Dallas Association for the Deaf and served a term as President of the Women's Auxiliary Fraternity.
Lanita was a loving, caring woman with a big warm smile for everyone at all times. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Lanita was preceded in death by husband E.R Ugarte, parents Scott and Edna Ferrell, and brother Scott Ferrell, Jr. She is survived by son Rick Ugarte and wife Gail, daughter Sonia and husband Lew Ganter, 6 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Anita Dalla. A family memorial service is planned to celebrate Lanita's life at Grove Hill Funeral Home. For online condolences please go to metrocresthilltop.com
