Larry Stephen Davis, Jr. died unexpectedly at his home in Athens, AL on November 16, 2009. He is survived by his loving parents, Pat Shearer of Athens, AL and Larry Davis of Clearfield. He leaves behind three grieving sons, Chad, Tyler, and Jared Davis. Also experiencing this great loss are his younger brothers, Rick Davis and wife CiCi and Ken Davis, and two younger sisters, Valerie Mackin and husband Deno and Jamie Moreno and husband Charles. He is survived by seven nieces and nephews: Amber, Carrie, Connor, Brandon, Tiffany, Lauren, and Julie. Two great-nephews, Kole and Kastin, also survive. Steve was born in Clearfield on November 6, 1958 and was an avid sportsman and a lifelong member of Twin Oaks Camp. One of the great loves of his life was hunting and fishing with his grandfathers, Howard Condon and Rex Davis, who both preceded him in death as well as his grandmother, Audrey Davis. Another great interest for Steve was baseball; he played for Clearfield Little League, Clearfield High School, and in several Clearfield fast pitch and slow pitch softball leagues. He was very close to his grandmother, Bernie Condon, of Clearfield, and aunts, Mona Rees and husband Glenn of Fremont, Ohio and Nancy Smith and husband Ron of Ocean View, Delaware. An aunt, Patricia Curry, also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Matthew C. Holbert officiating. Interment will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, November 20, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of ones choice. The loss of Steve has left a gaping hole in our hearts and an empty branch on the family tree. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
