Dear Kay, Kirk, Kevin and families,

I was stunned to hear of Larry's passing; I am deeply sorry for your loss. Although we had lost touch many years ago, I have so, so many great childhood memories of not only Mr. Wachtman, but of your entire family. It was the odd day that we weren't getting together to watch a Bronco game, or swimming in the pool, or just getting together for dinner when we all were much younger...Kirk, Kevin and I playing hockey in the garage, baseball in the yard, Intelivision in your family room, little league-just to name a few of the terrific times that I spent with your family as a young boy.

I was very glad to re-connect with Larry and everyone when I first moved back to Colorado with my wife, and I only wish we had been able to stay in touch better. I honestly can't say that I've ever met anyone quite like you Larry; you're one-of-a-kind and I'll never forget you. Again, my love and prayers go out to Kay, Kirk, Kevin, and thier families--you will be missed sir!

I wish I had a chance to meet Larry. As recently as August, 2010 I discovered that Larry's great grandfather Peter Friis was a brother to my great grandmother Margretha Friis Rasmussen. So I feel as though I know him since I have discovered so many interesting things about our ancestors. Larry will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He is at peace now. Kay, I'm so sorry to learn of Larry's passing. We were pals in high school but had become closer in later years via emails and the occastional phone calls. He was such a caring individual and always asked about my kids, my welfare, etc. and I loved his sense of humor, right up until my last converstaion with him earlier in November. Whenever we think of Larry, the primary memory would have to do with baseball. So much fun over many years! I (Barbara) will also miss teasing him and having him tease me, and John will miss talking sports, especially baseball, with him. May your favorite memories comnfort you. Love, John & Barbara

Dear Kay, Kirk and Kevin - Larry has been a part of our extended family for many years. We will miss the "Bear" calling and coming by to visit. We shared in his joy as he married, had two sons and his beautiful granddaughters. Jack and I have shared many fun times with the two of you over the years. Susan, John, Mark and Matt all send their love to your family. To Kay, Kirk and Kevin our prayers and love will be with you each day.

I have some fond memories of growing up with Larry and his older brother in McPherson including playing baseball and in band with him. I am sorry for his passing and know that he leaves a grand legacy.

The last time I saw him at the Loveland golf course he seemed so fit and happy with his life. Unfortunately, health is a very delicate thing.
