Larry J. Curtis, 69, of Ft. Wayne, IN passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012. Born in St. Louis, MO, Larry graduated from Collinsville High School in 1961 and served in the Air Force. He was a district manager for Walden Books, then worked for Grabill Cabinets for 8 years and retired from Park Center 2003. He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Artlink and Ft. Wayne Museum of Art. Larry loved books, art and nature. He also enjoyed fossil hunting, camping and spending time with friends and family. Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret "Maggie" Ayer Curtis; daughters, Cathy (Brian) Wise of Ft. Wayne and Coreen "Dorothea" Curtis of Chico, CA; sister, Chris Ann (Gene) Mergel of Lacy Springs, AL; grandsons, Curtis Wise and Bobby Jones; and granddaughter, Rachel Wise. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Catherine Curtis; sister, Cynthia Shirley; daughter, Karma Jones; and grandson, Brandon Jones. A celebration of life will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5310 Old Mill Road with a gathering one hour prior. Rev. Jennie Barrington officiating. Memorial gathering also from 5 to 7 pm Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Unitarian Universalist Congregation Roof project. Arrangements with D.O. McComb And Sons.
