Larry L. Parker, 70, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Thursday March 3, 2011 at La Porte Hospital. He was born July 16, 1940 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Roy Parker and Anna (Thorndyke) Parker. Larry had been a stock-keeper for Whirlpool Mfg. He was a member of Door Village United Methodist Church, Masonic Excelsior Lodge #41 F & AM of LaPorte and was a Veteran of the US Navy. Larry enjoyed camping, and playing cards. He liked putting together jigsaw puzzles. Larry loved to spend time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. On May 14, 1961, in LaPorte, IN, he married Sandra K. Bealor Parker who survives. He is also survived by his two sons - Douglas (Tina) Parker of La Porte, IN, James (Nicole) Parker of South Bend, IN; one daughter - Lori (Scott) Ehrick of La Porte, IN; eleven grandchildren- Matt, Lindsey, Kenny, Dusty, Katie, Erin, Tricia, Jessica, Alannah, Tyler and Cody; one great-grandchild - Lilly; and one brother, Don Parker of Walkerton, IN. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glen and Paul Parker, one sister, Thelma. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 10:00 am, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday March 5, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Billy Nickrand officiating. Interment will follow at the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice.
