Larry Franklin McConnaughhay, 70, of Beebe, Arkansas, departed this life Friday, February 10, 2012. He was born October 25, 1941 to Johnie and Irma McConnaughhay, who preceded him in death.
He was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church of Cabot, where he resided with his family for thirty-nine years prior to moving to Beebe. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Wilma; two children, Sandra Merrow and husband Steve of Stafford, Virginia and Johnie McConnaughhay and wife Crystal of Greenville, South Carolina; four grandchildren who meant the world to him, Taylor, Drew and McKayla Merrow and Connor McConnaughhay; a brother, J. R. McConnaughhay and wife Wanda of Oxford, as well as other in-law family members with whom he was very close.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Tabor UMC, 4100 Hwy. 89 S., Cabot, AR 72023 or Dogwood Cemetery, c/o Daphene at First Security Bank, P.O. Box 119, Griffithville, AR 72060.
Family visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with a celebration of life following at 12:45. Interment will follow at Dogwood Cemetery.
