LOUZON – Mr. Larry R. Louzon, Sr., age 83 passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at his home in Rockford. He was born July 17, 1928 in River Rouge (Detroit), MI to Victor and Lena Louzon. Larry served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. In 1950 he married Ruth Grover from Montague. He was employed in the early fifties as a commercial fisherman for Jim Grover (Ruth's father) and also drove truck for Hooker Chemical in Montague. In 1953 he joined the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 169 Detroit. He owned farms in Montague, Hesperia and Belding during the 1960's and 70's while he continued to work as a Boilermaker. In 1980 he sold the farm, moved to Plainwell, MI where he took up Bee Keeping as a hobby. In 1990 he retired from the Boilermakers. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife out West to Arizona, California and Texas. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and his dog, Bear. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth; two daughters, Linda M. Louzon of Berkley, MI and Melanie R. Louzon of Surprise, Arizona; two sons, Larry R. Louzon Jr. (Julie) of North Muskegon, Thomas J. Louzon of Rockford; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Jagodzinski of Tampa, Florida and June Roberts of Trenton, MI along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Lena Louzon; seven siblings and his son, Joseph M. Louzon in 1993.
