Laura Lucille (Wright) Lock was born March 30, 1922 in Sardis, Mississippi to the union of Johnnie and Mary (Walker) Wright. She worked on the farm in Mississippi and was able to make it through grade school. One June 15, 1940, Laura married Edward Lock and to this union six children were born: Mary, John, Robert, Ada, David and Ricky. In the pursuit of a better life for their family, Edward and Laura moved to St. Louis, Missouri in the mid 1940's. She worked in housekeeping for different establishments. Edward started studying with Jehovah Witnesses and Laura soon followed. She was baptized June 20, 1965. She departed this life on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the home of her son, Robert Lock. Laura leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Mary; sons, Robert (Mary), David (Cheryl) and Ricky (Harietta); daughter-in-law, Diane Lock; grandchildren, Debra Dowden, Donna Lock, John Lock, Jr., Deborah Marbley (Mark), Laura Granderson, Johnetta, Alisa Lock-Rash (Rance), Robert Lock, Jr. (Cassandra), Jill Hilton (Taurus), David Lock, Jr., Kenneth Lock (Idiris), Matthew Lock, Ricky Lock, Jr. (Tiara), Justina Austin (Brian), Candice Lock, Jasmine Lock, Carmen Lock; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lock; parents, Johnnie and Mary Wright; brother, Joe Wright; son John Lock; daughter, Ada Green; granddaughter, Pam Lock; and grandson, Michael Lock.
