The world was blessed with her presence on July 16, 1949, born in Earl, Arkansas, Laverne and her mother later relocated to St. Louis, Missouri. Daughter of Vester and Birdie Triggs (via marriage) she confessed her hope in Christ at an early age. Laverne attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where she obtained her Bachelors Degree and later obtained her Master's Degree at Webster University of St. Louis, Missouri. In 1991 Laverne married James Whitmore and enjoyed her family life. Laverne has maintained a successful practice as a psychotherapist for over 20 years and is known for her extraordinary acts of kindness and consideration of others, providing care to both privileged and underprivileged. She was a beautiful person both inside and out who loved life and laughter. Laverne passed peacefully away January 3, 2012 due to complications of her diagnosis, in which she endured heroically. We are comforted in knowing that she did not suffer. She leaves to mourn: her loving parents, Birdie and Vester Triggs; 2 daughters, Denise Roberts and Dana Roberts Ford; son-in-law, Stan Ford; 2 grandsons, Mauri Roberts and Myles Robert Ford; special friends, Wayne Harvey and Willette Stewart; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; Special sentiment to her most beloved companion "Nubian", her Yorkshire Terrier.
