Lee Gerloff passed away on June 1, 2009, in Fort Worth. Lee was born October 21 in San Antonio, son of the late Elmer and Beatrice "Bunny" Gerloff.
After graduating from La Salle High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. A highly decorated Vietnam War veteran, he was awarded a variety of medals including a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Lee worked for HEB for 33 years. He held many positions including Meat Plant Manager and Grocery Warehouse Manager. In 1997, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University. For the past 10 years, he was employed by SuperValu and served as General Manager of five distribution centers.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by four sisters. He is survived by his wife Kathy of 25 years; children, Derick Gerloff and his wife Christina; and Derick's mother, June Edwards LaChappelle, Ilene Henry, and Gerald Kohlenberg and his wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Brooke and Boone Henry, Gavin and Connor Kohlenberg; sister, Cindy Causey and her husband Larry; brother, Alfred Gerloff; and numerous extended family members.
The Rev. Rodney Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan Warren, George Rehfeld, Larry Causey, Chuck Hendrix, Sam Medrano and Bruce Quensted.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bulverde United Methodist Church, 28300 Highway 281 North, San Antonio, TX 78260.
