Lenora A. Burks McDaniel Lessley, age 72, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away Thursday May 10, 2012 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

She was born February 8, 1940 in Santa Maria, California to the late Earl L. and Devora Whigby Burks. Lenora was a faithful member of South Main Missionary Baptist Church of Malvern. Her family stated that she was determined to attend every service that she could, so much so that she requested that she be able to leave the hospital to attend the last service prior to her death. She enjoyed camping and fishing. Lenora loved her family and friends and when asked what she did for a living and if she was a veteran, her family replied, "She was a housewife, but she could have been in a military service because she went to war with her children most of her life, keeping them all in line".

She is survived by:

Sons: Charley McDaniel and Donald Lessley of Malvern. Arkansas

Daughters: Jamie Lessley of Malvern, Arkansas, Lynn Ray of Malvern, Arkansas and Mary Schlenker of Royal, Arkansas

Brothers: Albert Burks (Ruth) of Malvern, Arkansas and Joe Burks (Sherry) of Kansas City, Missouri

Sisters: Lynda Burks of Malvern, Arkansas and Hilda Corley (Gary) of Hot Springs, Arkansas

Several nieces and nephews, 26 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren

Good friends; Theresa Robinson, Irene Davis, Brenda Kay Simmons and Mary Furr

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; James McDaniel and Fred Lessley, daughters; Becky McDaniel Fuller and Patricia June McDaniel, brothers; Leonard, James and Lonnie Burks, sons; Gordon Earl McDaniel and Fred Lessley Jr., great grandson; Seth McJunkins

Pallbearers will be Curtis McDaniel, Shawn Fuller, BJ Lessley, David Lessley, Daryl Ray, Matthew Ray, Gary Ray Jr., Brittan McDaniel, William Gage, Adam Fish, and Chris Merrit

Honorary Pallbearers: The Entire Malvern High School Class of 1958 and all of her nephews

Funeral services will be Monday May 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at South Main Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern with Brother Glen Alston, Pastors: Gary Jennings, Bill Carter and Keith Pennington officiating. Interment follows Social Hill Cemetery under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern. A visitation for family and friends will precede the service on Monday from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Family and friends will be gathered at 527 East Sullenberger Street in Malvern
