Lenora Chambers Davis, age 99, devoted, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in her home in Payson.
She was born January 9, 1912 in Nephi, Utah to Leo and Bertha Bowles. She married George Chambers, November 26, 1930 . He preceded her in death, May 3, 1962. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She later met and married Oliver Davis. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 25, 1967. He preceded her in death June 1, 1981.
Lenora was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught Primary many years, was in the Relief Society as a counselor and was the President of the Sunday School class for many years. She loved to dance, fish, go traveling and taking care of her yard. She had Christmas family dinners that were looked forward to and enjoyed.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Llewellyn (Max, deceased), Leo (LuAine) Chambers, Marian (Norman) Cox; 15 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Max, Spencer, Charles Bowles and Mildred Greenhalgh.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 16, 2011, 11:00 a.m., in the Payson 11th Ward, 902 West 400 North, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Friday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Saturday, 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
The family would like to express special thanks and appreciation to Applegate Health Care for their dedicated work. To Janice, Randy, Dirk, Daniel, Corey, Matt and especially Kristy, a great-granddaughter for taking care of mother at home for so many months. Also her neighbors, Paula, Jim, Todd, Amber, Mattie, and Ben.
