Leo Carroll Hardy was born to the late Levon Hardy and Mary Nicholas Hardy in Roxobel, NC on February 24, 1935. He departed this life on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Wayne, NJ. Leo attended Bertie County Public Schools. He joined Sandy Branch Baptist Church at an early age in Roxobel, NC. He later met and married Sally Bishop of Roxobel, NC on September 29, 1962 in Emporia, VA. To that union one son was born, Gary Lee Hardy. They relocated to Paterson, NJ, where they resided for the past fifty-one years. Leo worked for LoBosco & Sons Paper Company of Paterson, NJ as a truck driver for over thirty years. After his retirement he worked part-time for Murphy Bus Company of Hawthorne, NJ, also Scholastic Bus Company of Fair Lawn, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levon and Mary Hardy; one sister, Clementine McKinnon; three brothers, Levon Jr., Jerry and Joseph Hardy. He leaves to cherish fond memories his loving wife, Reverend Sally Hardy of Paterson, NJ; four sons, Gary Lee of Paterson, NJ, Jimmy of Rocky Mount, NC, Jeffery of Philadelphia, PA, and Gilbert Lee Hardy of Irvington, NJ; three sisters, Maude Bowser of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, Alice Brooks and Marjorie (William) Lewis of Paterson, NJ; one aunt, Sarah Hardy of Aulander, NC; three sisters-in-law, Edith Hardy of West Milford, NJ, Alice J. Hardy of Paterson, and Sandra K. Darden (Apostle Willie Darden of Enfield, NC; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
