MATHESON, Leo. R. - of Montrose, age 84, died Monday, November 24, 2003 at Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Chester Cherry officiating. Final inurnment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 - 9 PM and on Wednesday from 9 AM until time of service. Leo was born May 11, 1919 in Fostoria, son of the late Herbert and Jessie (Folsom) Matheson and lived in the Montrose area since 1976. He served in the US Army during WW II. Leo married Marcella Chaulklin September 14, 1946 in Flint. She preceded him in death on June 11, 1995. Mr. Matheson retired from Buick in 1980 with 33 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #599. He loved to garden, fix small engines and play cards. Surviving are: 4 sons and a daughter, Dennis (Laura) Matheson of Clio, Ronald Matheson and significant other, Laura Dombrowski of Shelby Twp., Dr. Barry (Doris) Matheson of Flushing, Larry (Kathleen) Matheson of St. Clair Shores, Pam (Ken) Biggs of Montrose; daughter in law, Melinda Matheson of Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
