Leo was born on December 11, 1930 to Joseph Leo and Amelia Mary (Culverwell) Rhodes.
They lived in Los Angeles and had a hardware store on Hawthorne Blvd.
While Leo was in high school, Joseph and Amelia decided to move to Catalina Island.
Leo met his soon to be wife, Phyllis Joyce Gericke while they were both in high school and the romance was on.
Leo and Phyllis married on Phyllis' birthday, September 5, 1951.
They honeymooned in the house on Descanso where the cousins had a reverie, blowing horns and generally having a good time.
Leo and Phyllis moved up to their house in Falls Canyon and in 1952, Damian was born.
Debi arrived in 1956.
Leo had been working at the local Safeway
