Leolie C Weatherly, age 77, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He is a native of Wilson County but has lived in Murfreesboro for most of his life. He was a member of Haynes Chapel Church for 42 years before joining Saint Mark's United Methodist Church. Leolie owned and operated Maney Ave Service Station for over fifty-five years during which time he received numerous awards and certificates for training in automobile repair.
Leolie was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Lee and Esther Givens Weatherly; brothers, Edmond Weatherly and S. J. Weatherly; and one sister, Dr. Jenola Page. He is survived by his wife, Cornelia Jones Weatherly; son, Donnie Weatherly; three daughters, Esther Bates and Kenny Bates, Annie Marie Majors and George Alexander, Kay Berry Hornsby and Mike Hornsby; and three grandchildren, Marcus Stevens Bates, Shane Berry and Peyton Hornsby; also survived by several nieces and nephews all of Murfreesboro.
A chapel service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with James Clardy and Bro. Allen Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Butch Campbell, Jackie Jamison, Paul Parker, Charles White, Larry Stewart, Tony Harris, Edwin Florida, Kenneth Neely and Ray Tomberlain serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include all of the members of the Dan Scott Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215.
