Leona Kennedy, 71 years of Seaman, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Wheelright, Kentucky on May 2, 1938 the daughter of the late George and Dixie (Newsome) Johnson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; James Kennedy, and two brothers; Elmer and Ellis Lee Johnson. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Paul and Marianne Davis of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Ricky and Dinetta Kennedy of Seaman, three daughters and sons-in-law; Tammy and Jerry Stern of Seaman, Debra and Chris Hartsook of Seaman, and Kandy and John Moore of Seaman, two brothers; Jimmy Johnson of Dayton and Delmer Johnson of West Portsmouth, six sisters; Georgiann Moore of Circleville, Whyoma Martin of Mowrystown, Louise Burgess of Troy, Linda Johnson of Portsmouth, Janice Justice of Waverly, and Marie Adkins of Frankfort, eight grandchildren, one great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Homes, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Roy Lawinski officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Homes, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
