Leonard C. "Len" Pierzchala, 86, of Naples died May 30, 2012. Formerly of Toledo, OH, he had been a Naples resident since 1996. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Len was the son of the late John and Ann Staron Pierzchala. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Signal Corps during WWII. Len was a graduate of the University of Michigan, Class of '48. He retired as General Manager of Technical Products at the Owens-Illinois Glass Company after 37 years. He started as a Chemical Engineer after earning his B.S. and M.S. degrees at the U of M. He then served as a TV Products Field Engineer for three years and a Field Engineering Supervisor for five years before returning to Toledo in 1961 as Accounts Manager. Len also served as Plant Manager of the TV Products plant in Pittston, PA for nine years before he became General Manager in 1983. An avid golfer, Len enjoyed his time on the links. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Smith Pierzchala. He will be dearly missed by his family including his devoted wife, Maureen Gallagher Pierzchala; sons, Mark (Lisa) Pierzchala of Denver, CO and Eric (Janet) Pierzchala of Naples; grandchildren, Jake and Brooke; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Len's life will be held on Wednesday, June 13th, 11:30 a.m. at the Countryside Country Club.
