Leonard L. Daugherty, 80, of Harrisville, died Sept. 30, 2009 at Care Haven of Pleasants, Belmont, WV after and extended illness. He was born June 3, 1929 in Ritchie County, WV the son of the late Rexie L. and Mary Singleton Daugherty. Leonard graduated from Harrisville High School and was a 20 year Air Force Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was retired from WV Dept. of Highways. Leonard was a member of the Sgts. Association of the Air Force, and Harris-Ritchie Post 3554, VFW, Harrisville. He was an avid bowler and loved to travel. He had traveled to all states except Alaska. He is survived by his wife, M. Delma Pilon Lowther Daugherty; daughter, Penny Jo Pierce (Timothy) of Mineral Wells; Step-children, Kathryn Stanley (Mark) of Hubert, NC, Margaret Ann Props (Richard) of Harrisville, John Lee Lowther (Veronica) of Grantsville, and Donna R. Lowther and Terry Mills of Parkersburg; sisters, Lucy Murray (Eric) of Arkansas, Betty Kinneman (Jim) of Waldorf, MD, and Doris Swink (James) of Lexington, VA; brother, Charles Daugherty of Baltimore, MD; ten grandchildren, Sarah Wilson, Robert Stanley, Danielle Props, Jenna Lowther, Bronson Clark, Tori Lowther, Tonna Mills, T.J. Mills, John Harrison Lowther, and Beth Lowther; and three great-grandchildren, Kylee and Caden Wilson and Mckenzie Addlesburger; several nieces, nephews and cousins; beloved cat Buddy; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon L. Shrader Daugherty; a young daughter, Debra Lea Daughterty and special Aunt Flota Reeves. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009 at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with Pastor John Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 4-9 PM and Sunday from 11-2 PM..
