Leonard Leyhe
Leonard Louis Leyhe, 92, an Annapolis resident for 11 years and formerly of Baltimore, died November 10 at the Annapolitan Assisted Living after a prolonged illness.
He was born Jan. 31, 1919 in Baltimore, son of the late Edward and Mary Zajic Leyhe. He attended Baltimore City College, worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, and was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and a World War II Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor Leyhe; five brothers, Otto, Charles, Phillip, Francis and Martin Leyhe; and four sisters, Katherine Lupton, Amelia Otenasek, Emma Wallis, and Doris Dixon.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty White (Richard) of Annapolis; three grandchildren, Laura Johnson (Jeffrey) of Annapolis, Jennifer Landers (Jonathan) of Columbus, GA and Brian White of Arnold; and four great-grandchildren, Logan, Caleb and Ella Johnson and Ethan Landers.
Friends may visit 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 13 at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Annapolis 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, November 14 at St. Andrews by the Bay, 701 College Parkway, Annapolis.
