Deacon Leroy Douglas

Deacon Leroy Douglas age 74 of Dallas, Texas passed away April 23, 2011. Born to Welton and Zearlene Douglas on June 19, 1936 in Smithland, Texas. He received his education from Judea High. He was a retiree from Tex-Pack Express as delivery driver for over 25 years, even after being retired he continuted being active for the last 11 years as a Crossing Guard for The City of Dallas.

Deacon Douglas was a faithful member of New Friendship Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board, the Male and Mass Choir and the Deacon Board for over 20 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories the love of his life for 50 1/2 years, "Honey" he called her, Joyce Douglas; four sons, Dwight, Melvin, Kenneth and James; one daughter, Linda; four brothers, Walton II, Leon, Johnnie and Sonny; four sisters, Arnie, Darlene, Annie and Leo; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two aunts; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
