Les Ronnie "Buzzy" Tirschman, 51, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, passed away November 8, at University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
He was born December 19, 1959 in Annapolis and went to school at St. Mary's. Following high school, he attended the Harry Lunderberg School of Seamanship. After graduation, he became a Merchant Marine and a member of the Seafarer's International Union. He was also a member of C.D.N.A. Most recently he was working as a civilian at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Buzzy enjoyed fishing and was a professional angler. He had a special love for helping friends, and a deep appreciation of nature, including turtles and trees.
He is survived by his son, Les Ronnie Tirschman, Jr.; parents, Leslie and Maria Tirschman of Annapolis; a sister, Anna Beighlie of Grasonville; and a large family of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and many cherished friends.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Gloucester St., Annapolis. Following Mass, friends and family will gather at Moose Lodge 296, 1890 Crownsville Rd., Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to We Care and Friends, 92 W.
