Hinsdale- Leslie N. "Les" Fosburgh, Sr., 67, of Rolling Hills Village, died Saturday evening, January 7, 2012 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Les was born in Brattleboro on November 30, 1944 the son of Louis and Elizabeth (Green) Fosburgh. He was raised and educated in Hinsdale and Brattleboro, graduating from Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1962. Following high school he proudly served his country in the Vermont National Guard. He worked must of his career in the printing industry employed as a typesetter at the former American Stratford and later at the BookPress, both in Brattleboro. His last position prior to retiring was with Country News Distributors. Les enjoyed music, dancing and playing cards. He was a member of the American Legion, Brattleboro Post #5, V.F.W. Carl M. Dessaint Post #1034, and was a former member of the F.O. Eagles, Brattleboro Aerie #2445. On July 26, 1967 in Newfane he was married to Myrna Martin. The marriage ended in divorce but throughout the years he remained close friends with his former wife. Survivors include, one son, Leslie N. Fosburgh, Jr. of Hopedale, Massachusetts, his former wife of Brattleboro, two step-sons, Craig O'Connor of the Philippines and Terrance O'Connor of Hopedale, one step-daughter, Joi Prouty of Keene, one aunt, Eleanor Deyo of Brattleboro, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Ronald Fosburgh. There are no formal funeral services scheduled. Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will take place Friday, May 11, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. in Morningside Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Les's name may be made to, Rescue Inc., P.O. Box 593, Brattleboro, Vermont 05302.
