Lester Howard "Bud" Hall, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. He was born on June 6, 1929, the son of S. Frank Hall and Zora Virginia Murphy Hall. On December 21, 1969, he was married to Anna Laura Keene. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Bobby Hall; two brothers; and four sisters. After twenty years of service, Lester was retired from the United States Army on November 1, 1968 as Platoon Sergeant. He was the Chaplain of the Hot Springs Elks Lodge #380 and also worked at the Sentinel Record as a pressman. Lester was an avid fisherman who enjoyed watching NASCAR and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Anna Hall of Hot Springs; three daughters, Teresa and Clint Childs of Hot Springs, Angie and Darrell Allen of Poyen, and Laura Michell of Gilmere; one son, David and Mindy Oney of Marshal; nine grandchildren, Casey Huggs, Brandon Huggs, Jennifer Blackstone, Andrew Blackstone, Lauren and Wade Harvey, Jessica Oney, Triston Childs, and Addyson May; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Joan Hall; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Services will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, August 4, 2011 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs with Bro. Brad Launius officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00PM. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Dierksen Hospice, our "Angel" nurse, Denise Thornton, Dr. Nizar Suleman, Dr. John Scott Irwin, and many more wonderful nurses and doctors.
