Lewis Clinton Owen
Travelers Rest – Lewis Clinton Owen, 78, of 407 Virginia Road, husband of Othalene M. Owen, passed from this life Thursday, November 24, 2011.
Mr. Owen was born in Transylvania County, NC a son of the late Clarence James and Ruby Mae Owens Owen. He retired after 21 years as owner and founder of Jeans Plus Discount Uniforms in Spartanburg. He was member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Othalene M. Owen of the home, sons, Keith A. Owen of Saluda, NC and Kenneth B. Owen (Betty) of Travelers Rest and daughter Karen Winchester (Gary) of Travelers Rest. Grandchildren include Michael Winchester (Melinda) and Kevin E. Owen (Amanda) and great grandchildren include Clarrissa M. Winchester, Michael Pacey Winchester, Thomas M. Owen, and Jackson E. Owen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 PM Sunday in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
