Lewis H. Coleman Sr., a son given by the Lord to the late Carrie Lou Paris and Romie Coleman was born in Hot Coal, West Virginia on September 24, 1936. He passed away at St Joseph Hospital in Paterson, NJ, on January 3, 2012. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that he has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with the Savior. Affectionately known as "Joe" he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend. Joe has been a resident of Paterson for over fifty years. He was married to Rosa L. Coleman. They've been together and married for more than fifty years. They experienced the changing scenes of life in the joyous and fruitful companionship, which the Lord had entrusted to them. Joe was a machinist and retired from General Electric after close to thirty years of service. He then worked for various other machine shops in Totowa for close to fifteen years. His last work assignment before his passing was with Securitas Security agency where he worked for nineteen years. In his young adulthood, Joe served a stint in the United States Army and also was a member of the former Private Cellar Club. He was predeceased by sisters, Sylvia, Geraldine, Carrie Ann, brothers, James and Zach. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: wife, Rosa; one son, Lewis H. Coleman Jr.; four grandchildren, Jurod, Jamar, Marquis and Kaala Coleman; one great grandchild, Jamar Coleman Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Veronica (Shennett) Coleman; a god daughter, Flora Powell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
