Lewis "Roy" Wilson Sharpe, 71, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at his home, while surrounded by his family. A native of Mecklenburg County, he was a son of the late Mason Bradley and Lila Belle Mullis Sharpe. Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gastonia. He was a loving family man and a devoted worker, having only missed ten days of work in his 35 years as a printer. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Janie "Kay" Wright Sharpe, children; Lynne and Scott Andrejewski of Bangcock, Thailand, Kim Moore of Monroe, Kenny and Monica Greene of Liberty, NC, Roy Sharpe of Denver, NC, Brad Sharpe of Denver, NC, Amy S. and Jimmy Wright of Huntersville, Cathy S. And Philip George of Gastonia, grandchildren; Paige (Dallas) Sommers, Jason Sharpe, Kyle Haney, Ryan Sharpe, Jordan Pappas, Kalee Moore, Collin Haney, Austin and Emma Pappas, Delaney and McKenna Greene, great grandson; Riley Sampson, brothers, Mason (Doreen) Sharpe of Utah, Tommy Sharpe of Salisbury, sister, Shirley (Ken) McAlexander of Monroe and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Geneva Kennedy and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be at 7:00PM Tuesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Steele officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:45PM prior to the service. Entombment with Military Rites will be private to the family at Evergreen "A Quiet Place".Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092.
